Meet The Team - #01 Santiago Miralles

19th August 2022

We are proud to introduce you to our new series of blog posts, where you will be able to learn more about the team behind Knox Media Hub.

Starting from the foundations seemed just right, so let’s meet our Founder and CEO, Santiago Miralles. With over 30 years of experience in Media and Entertainment, Santiago has devoted his professional career to this industry, dedicating part of his time to teaching.

This has not kept him away from constantly learning and researching to adapt, and more importantly, predict, crucial changes in the audiovisual and broadcast paradigm.

Q: Which challenge has been the most notable over the 9 years of Knox Media Hub’s history?

A: I want to highlight two challenges. The first one is the creation of a very young and talented team, with strong values, commitment and capabilities. The second one is the internationalization of the company, and our growth to become a well-known player with a clear, winning value proposition.

In the year 2000, forecasting the Internet’s impact on the Broadcast Industry, he created the Digital Media Division of the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation, CCRTV Interactiva, following the model of the BBC. He was the General Manager of this company until 2011.

As a Digital Media pioneer, he enabled the CCRTV Group to be ahead of the Broadcast Industry in Europe and capture an immense value in the digital space. Under his leadership, new successful products, business models and revenue streams were created.

Meanwhile, he started to combine his professional career with his academic vocation. As a Lecturer, he helps students and companies develop a digital mindset for Management, inside and outside the Media and Entertainment industry.

Q: How did you picture KMH five years ago?

A: Honestly, just like it is today, with services that positively impact the competitivity and profitability of our customers.

Santiago directed the course Media Convergence, Technology and New Business Model at ESADE Business School, Barcelona for more than five years.

Later, he became a Lecturer for the Executive Master in Management of Media Companies (Universidad the Navarra) and for the Competing in the Digital Age field for IESE Business School’s Executive Education Programs.

He remains there as a Senior Lecturer and has been also the associate director of Telco, Media & Information Society Industry Meeting for almost three years. A proud father of two, passionate traveller, sports enthusiast (particularly tennis and skiing), and M&E expert, Santiago is very proud of Knox Media Hub, but KMH is proud of him too!

Q: How do you picture KMH in five years?

A: Without a doubt, as a global player in the M&E Supply Chain space. A worldwide recognized company with an extraodinary team and hundreds of clients satisfied with our services and the value we create for them and, most interestingly, doing business between them via KnoxMediaHub.
