Meet The Team - #02 Josep Saüch

This summer, we started the Meet The Team blog series to highlight the value of the people working on Knox Media Hub.
Today’s protagonist is Josep Saüch, our latest addition to the engineering team. He is the perfect example of how times have changed for good. Skills over titles and adaptability over comfort help professionals thrive flawlessly without the need for a traditional college degree. His profile was so interesting and his passion so strong, that is not surprising how valuable of an asset he has become for us.
Specialist in Django, and proficient in database architecture and design (SQL and NoSQL / ElasticSearch), Josep is a full-stack developer with advanced knowledge of REST API and web-based UI, but also really good in Python, MySQL, and PHP.
With over four years of experience developing, deploying and maintaining apps and websites, he has become our latest addition to our engineering team, and he is a perfect match. After work, he loves to fidget and experiment with devices and play the bass. Let’s get to know him better!
Q: How would you describe your first year at Knox Media Hub?
A: It's been a very satisfactory experience. My past jobs have been critical for this, because I had the skills and shared methodologies, but it was my first time in the media and entertainment industry.
This made it stimulating and sometimes challenging, but the onboarding was very easy. The team has been very welcoming, making me feel like I'm one of them, and offering their help and guidance when I needed it.
Also, the fact that the developers are young but experienced is part of the company's modus operandi. There is a very solid foundation to operate with, and the platform is very complete, but we are not scared to try new ways to make things better, and we are constantly learning and researching to improve the software and the user experience every day.
Q: How does a normal day of work look like at Knox Media Hub?
A: We have a very stable routine that helps us stay in touch with everyone's projects and with the business situation too.
Every morning, we start reviewing the last day’s projects and planning the day, and we connect with the team to coordinate projects, tasks, and priorities, which can be changing since we collaborate with the commercial and business side of the company as well.
We work on new developments and improve current features, and we invest part of our time in looking for the most optimal choice for practically every part of Knox Media Hub. Our goal is to make the software we'd love to use.
Occasionally, we work in demos and Proofs-of-Concept for clients, in both the technical and consultancy sides, collaborating with the business and commercial areas.
